How do I fix installer error code 2318?

When I was trying to UNinstall 2 programs (Bluestacks and Popcorn Time) I get the message «the installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with the package. The error code is 2318». Again, I’m uninstalling due to Popcorn Time never worked and Bluestacks stopped after I upgraded to Windows 10 (it was the free upgrade if that info helps ya’ll to help me lol)

I suggest you to disable the Firewall and try uninstalling the programs from the Programs and Features.

Follow the below steps:

1. Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard, and select Programs and Features.
2. Right Click on Program (which you want to uninstall) and select Uninstall.
3. Click on Yes if prompted.
4. Reboot the system and check.

Note: After uninstalling the programs enable the Firewall.

I suggest you to try the methods given below and check if it helps.

Method 1: C heck if the Installer Service is running. To do so, follow these steps.

1. press Windows + R and type “Services.msc” (without quotes) and press Enter.
2. Double-click Windows Installer.
3. Set the Startup type of Windows Installer to Manual.
4. Click Start to start the service. Note down the error message if any. Click OK.

Method 2: Place the computer in a Clean Boot state and check if it helps.

A clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista. You may also troubleshoot or determine what conflict is causing the problem by performing a clean boot.
